Here we have a gorgeous tibetan 800 silver gau (also spelled Ghau or Gao) prayer box pendant adorned with a turquoise in the center. The back depicts a double-dorje. This prayer box (it is openable at the back!) is used to hold and carry powerful amuletic objects. As used in Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, and Mongolia, the Gau box usually contains a written prayer or a sacred yantra diagram such as the kalachakra.
