A beautiful and rare pair of Egyptian Zar earrings. They have little coins attached. An additional green glass bead in the center of them. Please see pics, one of the glass is damaged but not in danger of falling out. The silver content is about 700 silver. As you can see in the pics, one of the hanging chains has some irregularities. This pair comes with a dark patina.
This kind of Zar earrings and amulets were worn during the ceremonies which are held to take away or protect the wearer of the Zar-spirit, which has taken possession of a person, in order to heal this person from the spirits caused illness.
