Tibetan or Nepali silver Gau (also spelled Ghau or Gao) prayer box pendant adorned with greenish-blue turquoise in the center and smaller turquoises and corals around. The backside is plain. The box comes on a brown thread and a jade bead to fix the pendant in place. The thread is knotted on the back and has to be pulled over the head. There is no closure, nor can the necklace length be adjusted. The length over the head will fit for a smaller sized head. Please check your head's circumference. This prayer box is used to hold and carry powerful amuletic objects. Used in Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan and Mongolia. A most beautiful example of a Tibetan/ Nepali Gau.
